To understand the Rosh Chodesh there are a few scriptures that we must agree on
first:
We must agree
Psa 12:6 The words of
YEHOVAH
are
pure words,
”no errors”
We must agree
Mal 3:6 "For I,
YEHOVAH,
do not change;
We must agree
that
YESHUA is the
MESSIAH.
We must agree
that Heb 13:8 Yeshua the Messiah is the
same
yesterday, today and forever.
We must agree
Mat 5:18 "For truly I say to you,
until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall
pass from the Law until all is accomplished.
We must agree
Lev 23:21 On the same day, you are to call a holy convocation; do not do any
kind of ordinary work; this is a permanent regulation through all your
generations,
no matter where you live.
The topic is
Rosh Chodesh. Something I think everyone needs to consider is this, “the bible
is a “Jewish” book. It must be viewed through Hebrew eyes, and with a Hebrew
mindset. We must understand that not celebrating the Rosh Chodesh on the
ordained day is a salvation issue. The reason is this;
Lev 23:2 "Tell the people of Isra'el: 'The designated times of
YEHOVAH
which you are to proclaim as holy convocations are
my designated times. Who’s
holy days? Who’s designated time are they…YEHOVAH’S. It is vital to know the
truth and let that solid, biblical truth set you free from satan and his lies.
To study and understand Rosh Chodesh: Three things we need to have to receive
the blessings of ELOHIM’S truth: 1: a bible 2: a Hebrew/English dictionary for
TANAK (OT). Greek/English dictionary for the Brit HaDasha (NT). 3: a concordance
for references. Things not needed to discover biblical salvational truth; 1:
TALMUD (The writings of the rabbi’s). 2: the internet. Now that we have our
tools ready. Let set our mind on discovering biblical truth. Let the word of
YEHOVAH speak and explain itself.
To study and understand Rosh Chodesh we need our Hebrew eyes focused on the WORD
and our mindset now as a brother grafted into the house of Israel. When reading
the bible we must understand Hebrew is not like any other language. Hebrew is a
perfect language. Meaning when a Hebrew word is used for the first time. That
particular word establishes its definition. That definition and meaning of that
word does not change over time, to mean something totally different 200 years
later. Hebrew is not like English. English is an imperfect language that is
constantly evolving. Constantly having the meaning of words changing.
Here is an example, the word "Fag" originated as a shortening of "faggot,"
historically meaning a bundle of sticks, and evolved through senses of burden,
woman, and effeminate man, eventually becoming a pejorative term for gay men.
Hebrew never changes and it does not evolve.
Now let us take a look at the Hebrew thought process called "the law of first
reference".
The law of first reference or mention is guideline that must be used for
studying Scripture. The law of first reference or mention says that, to
understand a particular word we must find the first place in Scripture that word
is revealed and study that passage. The reasoning is that the Bible’s first
mention of a word or concept is the simplest and clearest for that word or
concept. It establishes how that word will used throughout the bible.
Exo 12:1
YEHOVAH
spoke to Moshe and Aharon in the land of Egypt; he said, Exo 12:2 "You are to
begin your calendar with this month; it will be the first month of the year for
you. Exo 12:3 Speak to all the assembly of Isra'el and say, 'On the tenth day
of this month, each man is to take a lamb or kid for his family, one per
household—
Exo 12:2 "R1ThisH2088 monthH2320
shall be the beginningH7218 of monthsH2320 for you; it is to be the
firstH7223 monthH2320 of the yearH8141 to you.

2)
the first day of the month
So…the moon is going to be sign to us, for the new month. What is the “LAW OF
FIRST REFERENCE” for the word “SIGN”
LOFR
Gen 1:14
Then God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate
the day from the night, and
let them be
for signs and for seasons and for days and years; Gen 1:15 and let them be
for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth"; and it was
so. Gen 1:16 God made the two great lights, the greater light to govern the
day, and the lesser light to govern the night; He made the stars also.
SIGN:

אות
'ôth BDB Definition: 1) sign, signal
2)

4)
miraculous sign
The moon is going to be a sign. This sign of the beginning of the month has to
be viewed. It has to be seen by our eyes no matter where we live. Does the new
moon begin at the conjunction, the full moon, or the first sliver? What does the
LOFR show us? Something miraculous has to be seen. A distinguishing mark is seen
that is how it is distinguished. The black moon does none of those things
previously mentioned.
Our conclusion is simple the new month begins when the miraculous,
distinguishing, sign is seen in the heavens no matter where you live. Those that
follow the “black moon” fail to meet the “Law of first reference” standard for
good biblical doctrine. Since this is a salvation issue according to Vayikra
(Lev) 23:2 "Tell the people of Isra'el: 'The designated times of YEHOVAH which
you are to proclaim as holy convocations are my designated times.
