1064 I AM

 

Scripture: Sh’mot (Ex) 3:10-15 what does I AM mean.

 

SYNOPSIS: When you are going to describe yourself, you will use the phrase “I am…” How does that change when YEHOVAH uses the phrase “I AM?” Today’s lesson is going to focus on that phrase. If you were asked to describe yourself to others. Would that description be the same as others describing you? Would your description be the same as heaven about you?

 

VERSES: Sh’mot (Ex) 3:10-15 what does I AM mean. B’resheet (Gen) 9:11-13 I AM the maker of the covenant. B’resheet (Gen) 15:1 I AM your protector. Sh’mot (Ex) 6:30 I am a poor speaker. Psalm 143:10-13 I am your servant. Psalm 22:4-8 I am a worm. Mattiyahu (Mat) 3:16-17 I am is well pleased. Mattiyahu (Mat) 8:1-4 I am willing. Mattiyahu (Mat) 18:18-19 I am there with them. Yochanan (Jn) 18:4-8 I AM.

 

Sh’mot (Ex) 3:10-15 what does I AM mean.

Exo 3:13  Moshe said to God, "Look, when I appear before the people of Isra'el and say to them, 'The God of your ancestors has sent me to you'; and they ask me, 'What is his name?' what am I to tell them?" 

 

Ref. Pro_22:1  A good name is to be more desired than great wealth, Favor is better than silver and gold.

 

To have a good name…a good Ref. CJB Pro 22:1 Rather than wealth, choose a good reputation, esteem over silver and gold.

I AM: H1961 היה hâyâh BDB Definition: 1) to be, become, come to pass, exist, happen, fall out 2) to happen, fall out, occur, take place, come about, come to pass 3) to come about, come to pass 4) to arise, appear, come 5) to become, to become like 6) to be instituted, be established 7) to abide, remain, continue (with word of place or time)

B’resheet (Gen) 9:11-13 I AM the maker of the covenant.

Gen 9:12  God added, "Here is the sign of the covenant I am making between myself and you and every living creature with you, for all generations to come: 

 

Gen 9:13 

 

B’resheet (Gen) 15:1 I AM your protector.

Gen 15:1  Some time later the word of YEHOVAH came to Avram in a vision: "Don't be afraid, Avram. I am your protector; your reward will be very great." 

 

PROTECTOR: H4043 מגנּה / מגן  mâgên / meginnâh BDB Definition: shield, buckler

 

CHRISTIAN: 1)One who thinks and acts like YESHUA 2) One who professes belief in the teachings of Jesus Christ

 

Sh’mot (Ex) 6:30 I am a poor speaker.

Exo 6:30  Moshe answered YEHOVAH, "Look, I'm such a poor speaker that Pharaoh won't listen to me." 

 

Psalm 143:10-13 I am your servant.

Psa 143:10  Teach me to do your will, because you are my God. Let your good Spirit guide me on ground that is level. 

Psa 143:11  For your name's sake, YEHOVAH, preserve my life; in your righteousness, bring me out of distress. 

Psa 143:12  In your grace, cut off my enemies; destroy all those harassing me; because I am your servant.

Psa 22:6  But I am a worm, not a man, scorned by everyone, despised by the people. 

 

Mattiyahu (Mat) 3:16-17 I am is well pleased.

Mat 3:16  As soon as Yeshua had been immersed, he came up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, he saw the Spirit of God coming down upon him like a dove, 

Mat 3:17  and a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; I am well pleased with him." 

  

Mattiyahu (Mat) 8:1-4 I am willing.

Mat 8:3  Yeshua reached out his hand, touched him and said, "I am willing! Be cleansed!" And at once he was cleansed from his tzara`at.

Mattiyahu (Mat) 18:18-19 I am there with them.

Mat 18:19  To repeat, I tell you that if two of you here on earth agree about anything people ask, it will be for them from my Father in heaven. 

Mat 18:20  For wherever two or three are assembled in my name, I am there with them." 

 

Yochanan (Jn) 18:4-8 I AM.

Joh 18:4  Yeshua, who knew everything that was going to happen to him, went out and asked them, "Whom do you want?" 

Joh 18:5  "Yeshua from Natzeret," they answered. He said to them, "I AM." Also standing with them was Y'hudah, the one who was betraying him. 

Joh 18:6  When he said, "I AM," they went backward from him and fell to the ground. 

Joh 18:7  So he inquired of them once more, "Whom do you want?" and they said, "Yeshua from Natzeret." 

Joh 18:8  "I told you, 'I AM,' " answered Yeshua, "so if I'm the one you want, let these others go."

Remember Yeshua the Messiah is the same Yesterday, Today and Forever.
