823 DO NOT DOUBT

 

B’resheet (Gen) 3:1-6 Doubting the word of YEHOVAH.

 

SYNOPSIS: In 2^nd Thessalonians it says; ALL who have not believed the truth, but have taken their pleasure in wickedness, will be condemned. What does Rav Sha’ul mean? In today’s HaShabbat lessons we are going to study those who doubt. Three areas where people doubt the spoken word. Are you more like YESHUA or like the one Rav Sha’ul writes about in 2^nd Thessalonians?

HASHABBAT LESSON 1: DO NOT DOUBT THE WORD. B’resheet (Gen) 3:1-6 Doubting the word of YEHOVAH.

Gen 3:1  Now the serpent was more crafty than any wild animal which YEHOVAH, God, had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You are not to eat from any tree in the garden'?" 

Gen 3:2  The woman answered the serpent, "We may eat from the fruit of the trees of the garden, 

Gen 3:3  but about the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden God said, 'You are neither to eat from it nor touch it, or you will die.' " 

Gen 3:4  The serpent said to the woman, "It is not true that you will surely die; 

Gen 3:5  because God knows that on the day you eat from it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." 

Gen 3:6  When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it had a pleasing appearance and that the tree was desirable for making one wise, she took some of its fruit and ate. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her; and he ate.

Sh’mot (Ex) 6:6-12 so how will Pharaoh listen to me, poor speaker that I am?

Key v: Exo 6:12  Moshe said to YEHOVAH, "Look, the people of Isra'el haven't listened to me; so how will Pharaoh listen to me, poor speaker that I am?"

2 Thessalonians 1:1-12 Then he will punish those who don't know God, who doubt the word.

GOD: G2316 θεός  theos Thayer Definition: God the Father, the first person in the trinity

 

LORD: G2962 κύριος kurios Thayer Definition: 1) he to whom a person or thing belongs, about which he has power of deciding; master, lord 2) the owner; one who has control of the person, the master 3) in the state: the sovereign, prince, chief, the Roman emperor

 

Thessalonica: The City and The Congregation

 

Thessalonica was a bustling seaport city at the head of the Thermaic Gulf. It was an important communication and trade center, located at the junction of the great Egnatian Way and the road leading north to the Danube.

 

Paul had left Thessalonica abruptly (see Ac 17:5–10) after a rather brief stay. Recent converts from paganism (1:9) were thus left with little external support in the midst of persecution. Paul’s purpose in writing this letter was to encourage the new converts in their trials (3:3–5), to give instruction concerning godly living (4:1–12)

TROUBLE – AFFLICTION: G2347 θλίψις thlipsis Thayer Definition: 1) a pressing, pressing together, pressure 2) metaphorically oppression, affliction, tribulation, distress, straits

OBEY: G5219 ὑπακούω hupakouō  Thayer Definition: 1) to listen, to harken 2) to harken to a command 3) to obey, be obedient to, submit to

TRADITIONS: G3862 παράδοσις paradosis Thayer Definition: 1) a giving over which is done by word of mouth or in writing, i.e. tradition by instruction, narrative, precept, etc. 2) objectively, that which is delivered, the substance of a teaching 3) of the body of precepts, especially ritual, which in the opinion of the later Jews were orally delivered by Moses and orally transmitted in unbroken succession to subsequent generations, which precepts, both illustrating and expanding the written law, as they did were to be obeyed with equal reverence

HOLD FIRM JUDGMENT ON EVIL WILL BE DEALT OUT BY YEHOVAH

 

BUT to my Christian friends who say no to Torah

ALL who have not believed the truth CALLED MESSIAH YESHUA

 

But have taken their pleasure in wickedness, LIVING WITHOUT THE LAW

 

will be condemned!

 

Have no doubt about that!!
