PERSONALITY OF GOD

 

Scripture: Sh’mot (Ex) 20:3-6 HE is jealous.

 

SYNOPSIS: Horrible words were spoken by a Jewish man in the national Congressional building recently. God’s will 'is no concern of this Congress,' Jewish Democrat Jerry Nadler said. So what is GOD’S will? In today’s HaShabbat lesson we are going to study THE FATHER’S personality. To see what happens to the people when they agree that GOD’S will is no concern in your life.

 

HASHABBAT LESSON 1: THE REAL PERSONALITY OF GOD.  Sh’mot (Ex) 20:3-6 HE is jealous. Rev 4:8 YEHOVAH Is Holy – He is Infinitely, Unchangingly Perfect. Yesha’yahu (Isa) 6:1-3 YEHOVAH, THE FATHER is holy. Mattiyahu (Mat) 5:48 as your Father in heaven is perfect. D’varim (Deut) 32:4 HE is fair in blessings and curses. D’varim (Deut) 7:8-10 The faithful God, who keeps his covenant and extends grace to those who love him. Mark 11:24-25 so that your Father in heaven may also forgive your offenses. Luke 23:33-34 just like HIS FATHER, that is why reward was so great.

Exo 20:5  You are not to bow down to them or serve them; for I, YEHOVAH your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sins of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 

 

JEALOUS: H7067 קנּא qannâ' BDB Definition: jealous (only of God) Related Word by BDB/Strong’s Number: from H7065: 1) to be jealous of 2) to be envious of 3) to be zealous for 4) to excite to jealous anger

 

Exo 20:6 

 

GRACE – LOVINGKINDNESS: H2617 חסד  chêsêd BDB Definition: goodness, kindness, faithfulness

 

Rev 4:8 YEHOVAH Is Holy – He is Infinitely, Unchangingly Perfect.

Rev 4:8  Each of the four living beings had six wings and was covered with eyes inside and out; and day and night they never stop saying, "Holy, holy, holy is YEHOVAH, God of heaven's armies the One who was, who is and who is coming!" 

 

HOLY: G40 ἅγιος hagios hag'-ee-os [H2282]; sacred (physically pure, morally blameless or religious, ceremonially consecrated)

 

Yesha’yahu (Isa) 6:1-3 YEHOVAH, THE FATHER is holy.

Isa 6:3  They were crying out to each other, "More holy than the holiest holiness is YEHOVAH-Tzva'ot! The whole earth is filled with his glory!" 

 

Mattiyahu (Mat) 5:48 as your Father in heaven is perfect.

Mat 5:48  Therefore, be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect. 

 

D’varim (Deut) 32:4 HE is fair in blessings and curses.

Deu 32:4  The Rock! His work is perfect, for all his ways are just. A trustworthy God who does no wrong, he is righteous and straight. 

 

JUST: H4941 משׁפּט  mishpâṭ BDB Definition: 1) judgment, justice, ordinance 2) act of deciding a case 3) process, procedure, litigation (before judges) 4) sentence, decision (of judgment) 5) execution (of judgment) 6) decision (in law) 7) proper, fitting, measure, fitness, custom, manner, plan

 

TRUSTWORTHY – FAITHFULNESS: H530 אמנה / אמוּנה 'ĕmûnâh BDB Definition:  firmness, fidelity, steadfastness, steadiness

 

REF. Mal 3:6  "But because I, YEHOVAH, do not change, you sons of Ya`akov will not be destroyed. 

 

D’varim (Deut) 7:8-10 The faithful God, who keeps his covenant and extends grace to those who love him.

Deu 7:9  From this you can know that YEHOVAH your God is indeed God, the faithful God, who keeps his covenant and extends grace to those who love him and observe his mitzvot, to a thousand generations. 

 

FAITHFUL: H539 אמן  'âman BDB Definition: 1) to support, confirm, be faithful 2) to support, confirm, be faithful, uphold, nourish 3) pillars, supporters of the door

 

Deu 7:8

Deu 7:9 

 

COVENANT: H1285 בּרית berı̂yth BDB Definition: 1) covenant, alliance, pledge 2) treaty, alliance, league (man to man) 3) constitution, ordinance (monarch to subjects) 4) agreement, pledge (man to man) 5) alliance (of friendship) 6) alliance (of marriage)

 

Deu 7:10 

 

Mark 11:24-25 so that your Father in heaven may also forgive your offenses.

Mar 11:24  Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, trust that you are receiving it, and it will be yours. 

Mar 11:25  And when you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him; so that your Father in heaven may also forgive your offenses."

 

Luke 23:33-34 just like HIS FATHER, that is why reward was so great.

Luk 23:34  Yeshua said, "Father, forgive them; they don't understand what they are doing." They divided up his clothes by throwing dice.

Shows YESHUA and the FATHER are truly of one spirit

 

The personality of THE FATHER is truly profound and amazing

 

Loving, caring and strong

 

Forgiving and never changing

 

Just and vengeful

 

To all who hear these words make HIS will your will

 

And you to will have a great place in heaven!!!
