an unmatched testimony

SYNOPSIS: What do you think of people who would murder an 8 month old baby? What if that baby was your child, would you be able to forgive? In today’s HaShabbat lesson we are going to study, “What is your testimony”? If you were sold into slavery, what would in the end be your testimony? Would it be said of you, here lies Bill he tried to escape from being a slave and was shot dead. Here lies Barbara she tried to escape from prison and paid the price. YEHOVAH has a plan for everyone, your testimony is to walk in it. We will also ask the question what the devil means for evil YEHOVAH will change for good.

Gen 50:20  You meant to do me harm, but God meant it for good—so that it would come about as it is today, with many people's lives being saved.

B’resheet (Gen) 37:2 he was only 17 years old.

Gen 37:2  Here is the history of Ya`akov. When Yosef was seventeen years old he used to pasture the flock with his brothers, even though he was still a boy. Once when he was with the sons of Bilhah and the sons of Zilpah, his father's wives, he brought a bad report about them to their father. 

 

Sh’mot (Ex) 32:1 now we know what they were thinking.

Exo 32:1  When the people saw that Moshe was taking a long time to come down from the mountain, they gathered around Aharon and said to him, "Get busy; and make us gods to go ahead of us; because this Moshe, the man that brought us up from the land of Egypt—we don't know what has become of him."

Gen 37:27  Come, let's sell him to the Yishma`elim, instead of putting him to death with our own hands. After all, he is our brother, our own flesh." His brothers paid attention to him. 

Gen 37:28  So when the Midyanim, merchants, passed by, they drew and lifted Yosef up out of the cistern and sold him for half a pound of silver shekels to the Yishma`elim, who took Yosef on to Egypt. 

 

B’resheet (Gen) 39:1-4 the 17 year old does not falter.

Gen 39:1  Yosef was brought down to Egypt, and Potifar, an officer of Pharaoh's and captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the Yishma`elim who had brought him there. 

Gen 39:2  Adonai was with Yosef, and he became wealthy while he was in the household of his master the Egyptian. 

Gen 39:3  His master saw how Adonai was with him, that Adonai prospered everything he did. 

Gen 39:4  Yosef pleased him as he served him, and his master appointed him manager of his household; he entrusted all his possessions to Yosef. 

 

B’resheet (Gen) 39:7-14 more trials.

Gen 39:9  In this house I am his equal; he hasn't withheld anything from me except yourself, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?" 

 

B’resheet (Gen) 39:21-23 from bad to worse but YEHOVAH is with him.

Gen 39:21  But Adonai was with Yosef, showing him grace and giving him favor in the sight of the prison warden. 

 

B’resheet (Gen) 40:12-15 Yosef says he was kidnapped instead of…

Gen 40:15  For the truth is that I was kidnapped from the land of the Hebrews, and here too I have done nothing wrong that would justify putting me in this dungeon."

Gen 41:1  At the end of two years, Pharaoh had a dream: he was standing beside the Nile River;

Gen 41:46  Yosef was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt; then he left Pharaoh's presence and traveled through all the land of Egypt. 

 

Ester 4:4-14 for you were born for such a time as this.

Est 4:14  For if you fail to speak up now, relief and deliverance will come to the Jews from a different direction; but you and your father's family will perish. Who knows whether you didn't come into your royal position precisely for such a time as this."

Jer 1:4  Here is the word of Adonai that came to me:

Jer 1:5  "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I separated you for myself. I have appointed you to be a prophet to the nations." 

Yirmeyahu (Jer) 29:11 I know the plan.

Jer 29:11  For I know what plans I have in mind for you,' says Adonai, 'plans for well-being, not for bad things; so that you can have hope and a future. 

 

Gen 50:20  You meant to do me harm, but God meant it for good—so that it would come about as it is today, with many people's lives being saved.
