THE
CITY GATE MESSIANIC BIBLE STUDY
A HEBREW LOOK AT YESHUA'S PARABLES 005
The Parables – “New
wine skins”
The City Gate Messianic Bible study - The Parables “New wine skins”.
What is the Hebrew understanding of MESSIAH’S parable about new wine
into new wineskins? Before studying the Parable we must be reminded of 3
things; Mal 3:6 "But because I, Adonai, do not change… Mat 5:18 Yes
indeed! I tell you that until heaven and earth pass away, not so much as
a yud י or a stroke will pass from the Torah not until everything that
must happen has happened. Heb 13:8 Yeshua the Messiah is the same
yesterday, today and forever. So I ask the question could this next
thing be correct: Most Christian scholars agree that the Parable of the
New Cloth and New Wineskins is supposed to teach that the Old Covenant
and the New Covenant are incompatible. In other words, Judaism is
incompatible with Christianity. In this interpretation, the New Cloth
and New Wine represent the Gospel of Jesus Christ (God’s New Covenant of
Grace through faith in MESSIAH) while the Old Cloth and Old Wineskins
represent the legalistic traditions of Judaism (God’s Old Covenant
through Mosaic Law). YESHUA is the fulfillment of the Messianic
prophecies and there is no longer a need to continue the old rituals.
Let us find the truth.
