Marriage is..…… ……
Faithfulness
אמוּנה
'ĕmûnâh
firmness,
fidelity, steadfastness, steadiness
Marriage on the
earth is fraught with danger.
The married couple is a living example of faithfulness in a faithless
world. Yeshua is the Way to be certain that you will keep your vows. He
is the Master of Covenants. Trust him to teach you the way to be
faithful. Trust in His faithfulness first. Ask Him to fill you with the
same faithfulness.
Faithfulness stands firm in the face of opposition. It is not
violent or destructive. It is very different than stubbornness.
Faithfulness is a power or force that confounds our enemy.
Then Sha'ul said, "I
have sinned. Come back, my son David. I won't harm you any longer,
because you regarded my life as precious today. Yes, I have behaved like
a fool. I was altogether in the wrong." David answered, "Here is the
king's spear. Send one of the men over to bring it back. Adonai will
give every person a reward suited to his uprightness and faithfulness.
Adonai put you in my power today, but I would not raise my hand against
Adonai's anointed.
Look: just as I put
great value on your life today, so may my life be given great value by
Adonai.
May he deliver me from
every kind of trouble!" Sha'ul answered David, "Blessings on you, my
son David! No question that you will accomplish everything you set out
to do!"
So David went on his
way, and Sha'ul returned to his place.
1Samuel 26:21-25
Married couples need to understand that faithfulness of the spouse is
impossible without the hand of Adonai. hasatan, in the end of all
things,
will ultimately be defeated by the faithfulness of Adonai to keep His
own covenant.
Yehovah is the ultimate faithful husband. Our enemy, therefore, hates
the faithfulness of married couples because they remind him, on a daily
basis,
of his ultimate end.
Married couples must continually keep under the covering of Adonai to be
shielded from the daily onslaught from the enemy. The best way to
achieve this protection is praising and worshiping Adonai together..in
unity.
The
Psalms teach us that faithfulness is a characteristic of Adonai.
Man cannot possess or exhibit this trait except by the work of the Hand
of Adonai in our lives. We literally depend on Him for any shred of
faithfulness that we show toward one another and even toward our
Abba in Heaven. This should be motivation or cause in itself for us to
lift our voices and hands in praise and worship of Adonai.
Don't be upset by
evildoers or envious of those who do wrong, for soon they will wither
like grass and fade like the green in the fields. Trust in Adonai, and
do good; settle in the land, and
feed on
faithfulness. Then you will delight yourself in Adonai, and he
will give you your heart's desire. Commit your way to Adonai; trust in
him, and he will act.
Psalm 37:1-5
I will sing of the
lovingkindness of the LORD forever; To all generations I will make known
Your faithfulness with my mouth.
For I have said,
"Lovingkindness will be built up forever; In the heavens You will
establish Your faithfulness." "I have made a covenant with My
chosen; I have sworn to David My servant, I will establish your seed
forever And build up your throne to all generations." Selah.
Psalm 89:1-4
In his presence are
honor and majesty; in his sanctuary, strength and splendor. Give Adonai
his due, you families from the peoples; give Adonai his due of glory and
strength; give Adonai the glory due to his name; bring an offering, and
enter his courtyards. Worship Adonai in holy splendor; tremble before
him, all the earth! Say among the nations, "Adonai is king!" The world
is firmly established, immovable. He will judge the peoples
fairly. Let the heavens rejoice; let the earth be glad; let the sea
roar, and everything in it; let the fields exult and all that is in
them. Then all the trees in the forest will sing before Adonai, because
he has come, he has come to judge the earth; he will judge the world
rightly and the peoples with his faithfulness.
Psalm 96:6-13
119:81
כ
(Kaf)
I am dying to know your salvation; my hope is in your word. My eyes fail
from watching for your promise; I ask, "When will you comfort me?" For
I have shriveled like a wineskin in a smoky room; still, I don't forget
your laws. How long can your servant stay alive? When will you bring
judgment on my persecutors? The arrogant have dug pits for me to fall
in; this is not in keeping with your Torah! All your mitzvot show
your faithfulness; they are hounding me with lies; help me!
They have nearly ended my life on earth, but I have not abandoned your
precepts. In keeping with your grace, revive me; and I will observe your
spoken instructions
119:89
ל
(lamed)Your
word continues forever, Adonai, firmly fixed in heaven;
your faithfulness through all generations; you established the
earth, and it stands. Yes, it stands today, in keeping with your
rulings; for all things are your servants. If your Torah
had not been my delight, I would have perished in my distress.
I will never forget
your precepts, for with them you have made me alive. I am yours; save
me because I seek your precepts. The wicked hope to destroy me, but I
focus on your instruction. I see the limits of all perfection, but your
mitzvah has no bounds.
Psalm 119: 81-96
The couple must first be faithful to Adonai and His Covenant as it is
written in His Word. Married couples develop faithfulness by studying
and adhering to the Word of Adonai. Only then can these two former
individuals maintain
an echad relationship as one body.
